Walter
Bothe received his Masters Degree
from the School of Criminal Justice in 1966. He began his career
in law enforcement as an agent of the United States Secret Service.
As a Secret Service agent, Walter traveled throughout the U.
S. and abroad directed at organized crime and later assigned as the
U. S. Secret Service representative to the federal organized
crime
strike force – first in New York and subsequently in Los
Angeles.
After his assignment with Secret Service, Walter’s
law enforcement career continued in the area of personal security
for the U. S. Treasury, U. S. State Department, White House
where
he
was a supervisor on the protective detail assigned to Dr.
Henry A. Kissinger and senior security advisor to Rockefeller
Family
and Associates.
Walter’s legacy and commitment to law enforcement continues
today through the Walter E. Bothe Memorial Scholarship, established
by Mrs. Edith Bothe and Mary Ann Bothe Petree. The Scholarship
is awarded to talented students who are pursuing law enforcement
studies.
