
Sex Crimes Investigation
Focus: This
two day workshop is an introductory to intermediate skill-level course.
It is designed for experienced as well as newly appointed/promoted patrol
officers, investigators and detectives responsible for the investigation
of sexually motivated offenses specifically. Seminar content emphasis is
tailored to the needs and skill levels of the participants.
Through the use of small group exercises, video tape scenarios and real-life case studies, participants in this seminar will be given basic information, asked to apply what they have learned, and then given an opportunity to critique that application.

Instructor:
Audrey Z. Martini, M.A., formerly with the Detroit Police Department, Crimes Against Persons Section, where she was Administrative Lieutenant for the Sex Crimes Unit. She spent eighteen years with that Unit as an officer, sergeant and lieutenant. She has personally investigated thousands of sexual assault cases, as well as overseeing the day-to-day administration of the unit responsible for sexually motivated offenses occurring in Detroit.
Ms. Martini has taught this course throughout Michigan, as well as outside the state. She is an excellent presenter, who blends her expertise and experience with that of the seminar participants, to produce an environment that motivates even the most reluctant attendee to learn.
Ms. Martini is currently Professional Development Coordinator for the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University. She received her Bachelors in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and her Masters Degree in Urban Planning from Wayne State University.
