Biography

Mark Anarumo earned his PhD in Criminal Justice in 2005 from Rutgers Graduate School-Newark, where he completed his dissertation on terrorist threat forecasting. Mark is also a 2012 graduate of Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, where he was a National Security Fellow, and is a 2001 graduate of the FBI National Academy. Mark is currently serving with the United States Government as an anti-terrorism and physical security expert. During his 20-year career he has worked as a representative of the United States in several foreign nations including Iraq, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Korea, Turkey, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. In these positions Mark has served as Chief of Anti-Terrorism, Chief of Information Protection, and Chief of Police, protecting United States interests and personnel from terrorism, crime, and cyber attack. In addition to his field experience, Mark has been teaching in classrooms and online for over fifteen years at the graduate, undergraduate, and certification levels, and has published and presented several dozen academic articles. His research interests include terrorism, political violence, low intensity conflict, non-lethal technologies, disorder, executive leadership, and management.
