Curriculum Vitae


Makayla is a second year doctoral student in the School of Criminal Justice at Michigan State University. She received her B.S. in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude with Highest Honors and Academic Distinction in 2020. Her research interests include victimology, domestic violence, sexual violence, and cyber victimization. Makayla is currently serving as Treasurer for the School of Criminal Justice’s Graduate Student Association (GSA). Her work has been published in Crime & Delinquency and the Journal of Family Violence.
