Biography

Amanda is originally from Venezuela and migrated to sunny South Florida in 2003. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida in 2015 and her Master’s Degree in Criminology from Florida Atlantic University in 2018. She will be graduating with a Ph.D. in Criminology from Michigan State University in the Summer of 2023. She has certificates in DEI, Law & Society, Policing, and Crime and Criminal Behavior. Her research focuses on sexual violence, vulnerability, betrayal, and the intersectionality of marginalized identities. Her most recent work has been featured in Crime & Delinquency, Journal of Social Issues, and Studies in Conflict & Terrorism.
